Why I Still Write Handwritten Notes

This week I've been thinking about handwritten notes.

And no, I'm not talking about greeting cards.

Actually, I don't really do cards.

To me, they often feel forced.

Someone else picked the words. Someone else designed the message. You sign your name and move on.

There's nothing wrong with them.

But they're just not me.

What I do love is a handwritten note.

Something simple. Something personal. Something that says:

"I was thinking about you."

Not because it's a holiday. Not because I had to. Just because.

Maybe it's thanking someone. Congratulating them. Encouraging them. Or simply telling them how much I appreciate them.

In a world full of texts, emails, and DMs, taking five minutes to put pen to paper feels different.

Because people know it took intention.

And I think that's what people remember most.

Not expensive gifts. Not perfect words. Just thoughtfulness.

I've found that the smallest gestures often leave the biggest impression.

Not because they cost the most.

But because they communicate something we all want to know:

"I see you."

And maybe that's what relationships are really built on.

Not grand gestures.

But small moments of thoughtfulness repeated over time.
